Stan Weber has provided color analysis for Kansas State University football games on radio for the last 34 seasons beginning in 1987. Since 1997, he has also broadcasted Kansas State basketball games on both radio and television. The television games are currently shown on ESPN+.
Since 2000, during the football season, Stan has co-hosted a two-hour weekly radio show on Sports Radio 810 WHB called “College Football Game Day” and has been a regular broadcaster on Sports Radio 810 WHB, including weekly appearances on “Between the Lines” and/or “The Border Patrol” shows.
Other radio experience in KC includes providing color analysis for the Arena Football League game between Grand Rapids and New Jersey played in KC in 2001, guest hosting for daily shows such as “Between the Lines” and providing color analysis for NAIA tournament basketball games, high school playoff and all-star games.
Stan appears weekly on Sports Radio KGSO 1410 in Wichita, KS for a program called “Stan’s Sports Spectrum.”
Beginning in 2006, for the then newly created Kansas City Brigade Arena Football League team, and for all five years that Kansas City had an Arena Football team, Stan provided color analysis on TV and radio for the team.
For more than 20 years that they existed, Stan was a regular analyst on Metro Sports television programs, including Chiefs post games, MIAA Thursday night football games, Kansas City Metro Classic High School All-Star games, Metro Sports Sunday Night, press conferences and the nightly show “Metro Sports Talk” where he won a 2003 Mid-America Emmy Award.
Other television experience includes annual Kansas Shrine Bowl Football games, a Big 12 Conference Basketball game on ESPN Regional, Missouri Valley Conference Basketball Tournament, Mid-Con Conference Basketball on Fox Sports Network, NAIA National Championship Football games, and NAIA National Tournament Basketball games, basketball analyst on KCTV-5 (CBS) coverage of the Big XII basketball season and tournament and the NCAA tournament, and guest analyst on KC television stations shows focused on the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL, or college basketball and football.
In August of 2005, a book authored by Stan with David Smale called Stan Weber’s Tales from the Kansas State Sideline which was published by Sports Publishing LLC.
Weber originally hails from Wichita, KS and while at Goddard HS was named Male Athlete of the Year by the Wichita Eagle in 1980 after finishing as an all-state football and basketball player. Also, he was the MVP of the 1980 Kansas Shrine Bowl All-Star Football Game. In 2014, Stan was inducted into the Kansas Shrine Bowl Hall of Fame and in 2019 he was inducted into the Goddard Public Schools Hall of Fame.
At Kansas State, Weber played free safety on defense in 1980 before moving to offense and starting at quarterback in 1983 and 1984. He served as captain of the 1984 football team and led the Wildcats in rushing while earning academic All-America honors from the College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Weber also held many of the Kansas State quarterback rushing records until the Michael Bishop and Ell Roberson eras and was once named Big Eight Player of the Week after rushing for 113 yards vs. No. 1 Nebraska.
Weber, who graduated magna cum laude, received his bachelor’s and master’s degree in accountancy from K-State and in 1986 passed the CPA exam. In 2009 Stan was inducted into the Kansas State University Accounting Department Hall of Fame and is the Chairperson of the Kansas State University Department of Accounting Advisory Board, and a member of the Kansas State University College of Business Dean’s Advisory Board.
From 1985 to 1989 Stan worked as a CPA for KPMG – Peat Marwick. From 1989 to 2003, Stan worked at National Farms, Inc. for fourteen years – twelve years as Vice President/CFO and two years as President/CEO. Since 2003, he has worked at Tower Properties Company, as President since June 2018, Chief Operating Officer (from June 2015 to June 2018) and CFO of Tower Properties in addition to his broadcast duties.
Stan and his wife, Nancy have four children: Brittani Richardson (married to Tyler Richardson and they have two daughters named Payton and Ella), Stanton, McKenzi and Landry and reside in Lenexa, KS.
